In his 1990 book Flow, psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi introduced “flow.” It’s a state of complete immersion in an activity, where nothing else matters. He described it as “an experience so enjoyable that people will continue to do it even at great cost, for the sheer sake of doing it.”
Sounds incredible, right? Could we use Flow to help us improve how we work and as a result help us improve our well-being?
Who was Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi?
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi was a Hungarian-American psychologist. He recognized and named the psychological concept of “flow”, a highly focused mental state conducive to productivity.
