3 Tiny Movement Things to Do During Your Day
- Park just one spot further away from your office or where you normally would when shopping to get more steps in your day. Start small and celebrate afterward;
- Create time to stretch in the morning & afternoon. In the morning, after you turn on your computer, stretch in some manner. In the afternoon, after lunch, stretch again;
- Make time to move in the morning after you have turned on your computer and stretched, walk to the copier, or the break room, or to another room in your house/apartment. In the afternoon, do the same thing, except do it after lunch and after stretching.

One Last Thought
Whatever movement practice you incorporate into your daily routine, in order for it to become a regular part of your day, it has to be something you already want to do. I enjoy taking the stairs versus the elevator at work, so it is something that I already want to do. If you don’t like taking the stairs at work and you work on the third floor, then you probably shouldn’t decide that your movement practice is going to be taking the stairs to get up to the third floor. Try doing something that you want to do. If you decide that you do want to start taking the stairs, start small and try walking up one flight of stairs your first week and be sure to celebrate when you do it.
